This article is relevant if you need to get control over generating NetSuite-based price lists.
Background
I have written a number of articles on how to create new pricing rules in NetSuite which open up more choices for price expression. Please see these related pricing articles:

However, the subject of this article is how to get more flexibility when we need to present price lists to customers for their evaluation and use. NetSuite offers a price list generator which effectively is a report. If it works for you, great! But administrators quickly learn that the options are limited.
The natural response is to consider going to Saved Search to try to generate customer price lists. However, Administrators will learn that it’s effectively impossible to search for item prices for a specific customer that provides for all the richness that NetSuite offers in its native report.
However, with recent NetSuite platform capacities, namely SuiteQL, we have addressed the challenge.
Specific Price Rules and Output Requirements Can be Met
Our Firm’s Senior Technical Analyst, Boban D., worked with a client that had a simple-to-understand but challenging-to-produce requirement. They simply wanted to see their selected customer’s prices, which included quantity discounts, and compare it to a specific (‘Retail’) price level. Boban went to work to build the underlying NetSuite SQL (SuiteQL) to lookup the customer-specific prices right.
This means that the rules that NetSuite creates for price levels, quantity discounts, and item-specific prices for each customer will be respected — just as if NetSuite generated the report. But now we also had full control over the output.
The client asked for output options which include: PDF, Excel, HTML and CSV.
The good news is that we can get control over matters. Consider the following:
- Comparison Pricing: what if we want to show list prices or prices from specific price levels? This can be done.
- Currency Prices: what if we wanted to show prices in designated currencies? We can.
- Output Expression: what if we wanted to demonstrate the differences in prices from other prices levels? Indeed.
