Background
Since 2011, I have been working with Bitcoin. Since then, considerable expertise has been developed due to our implementation of the Bitcoin Transaction Coordinator which integrated Bitcoin payment processing within NetSuite. I offered to write an article for CIO Review to help educate other business professionals about the digital currency phenomenon and the meaning from a business systems persective. In this article, I do not reference NetSuite and instead, speak more fundamentally about the concerns a responsible actor will face as digital currency is more widely adopted.
