This article is relevant if you seek more working screen real estate in your NetSuite account.
Background
Back in 2014, NetSuite produced a new User Interface as part of the 2014.2 rollout. While many welcomed the new interface, I recall being challenged because I assessed that I lost important working screen real estate. This article offers a couple of suggestions to get back NetSuite working screen space.
Activate the Horizontal Labels Switch
To my surprise during one of my weekly staff meetings, one of our senior consultants showed me that NetSuite offers a global general preference to use Horizontal field labels, just how they were organized before the 2014.2 rollout. Go to Setup, Company, General Preferences, Horizontal Labels. Note, this will activate for your entire organization and will likely throw people into confusion without warning. Click the images to see the before and after screenshots for the effect.
Modify the Browser Zoom Feature
The personal trick I use to get more real estate is to zoom back on the screen when I am in the NetSuite interface. In my chrome browser, I get the setting by going to menu and selecting the zoom feature. I typically like to use 80% for my viewing preference. Combined with horizontal labels, I am in great shape!
Get More Out of NetSuite
If there is something on your mind about getting more out of your NetSuite implementation, let’s have a conversation.
Hey Marty,
This is a great tip. At my previous company, we made the switch to horizontal labels, and our end users loved it. We did run into issues with the pop-up windows for field selections when building saved searches. After the switch, the size and alignment of the windows were not correct, and you would have to scroll left/right or resize the window. Have you found a solution to this?
Thanks,
Ash
Hi Ash,
I don’t have a solution…
