I have been using a Google Nexus One for well over a year and love it. However, I miss a physical keyboard from my BlackBerry days. So I purchased a used HTC G2 on T-Mobile with the full intention of rooting the phone to install the custom ROM, CyanogenMod 7.
The challenge with rooting the G2 is that you need to restore an older ROM to get root access so you can install Clockwork recovery to ultimately install Cyanogenmod 7. Once you get through that challenge, you may run into the ClockworkMod Recovery Stuck problem. What this looks like is an orange hat appearing with no movement. If you click the power button, the menu returns but you can’t get out of it. I found that I had to pull the battery to get the system to reset.
I spent about six hours working through this problem. Ultimately, I was simply blind. All I needed to do is click the center external trackball / joystick to select menu items! All is good now! Joy has returned to my inner geek.
How many times have you thought a door was locked so you didn’t even try to open it?
O.M.G. THANK. YOU.
